A woman and her boyfriend Ohio, United State have been accused of abusing her 4-year-old daughter Aniya Day-Garret to the point of death.
According to PEOPLE, Sierra Day, 23, and Deonte Lewis, 26, are charged with the aggravated murder of Aniya Day-Garrett, Euclid Law Director Kelley Sweeney.
The little girl suffered a stroke as a result of constant beating on the head that was revealed on Sunday while under medical care. Her death has been considered a homicide by medical examiners.
According to News 5 Cleveland, Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services confirmed that they conducted three separate investigations into allegations of neglect last year, but the agency concluded that there was not enough evidence to remove the child from her mother's home.
Day was scheduled to meet with a social worker on Monday to discuss Mickhal Garrett's petition for an emergency custody, which was already too late.
